We like to swim and believe reopening the Gibsons pools is important. We also believe that the SCRD's argument of not reopening the pool for financial reasons is a red herring: pools are not built and maintained to make money, neither are libraries or parks. Public recreational spaces are created to foster healthy, strong and resilient families, neighbourhoods and communities. Pools also offer much-needed employment opportunities for teenagers and young adults.

We need to send a clear message to the SCRD about this issue. We want Gibsons pool, your pool, our pool, to be reopened now and operated following a schedule equivalent to other pools in the region.
